Today, technology innovator, Virtual Spectator and Ambition Lifestyle announced the launch of PowerboatPro.com, a news portal for official powerboat news from all around the world.

PowerboatPro.com keeps fans informed and engaged throughout the season by allowing them to follow their favorite class of powerboat racing in one single location. Powerboat racing classes that will be featured on PowerboatPro include U.I.M. Grand Prix of the Sea, F1H20, Class 1Zapcat, Powerboat P1 Superstock and Powerboat P1 U.S.A. News from the governing bodies of the sport including Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) and Offshore Super Series (OSS) will also be published.

As the world’s central hub for all powerboat related news, PowerboatPro.com will include the latest information on racing, gear, teams, sponsors, boat manufacturers and venues. In addition, there will be current interviews with some of the leaders in the sport, product reviews, photo and video galleries, and spectator feedback. Everything powerboat related, including the parties, the controversies and the lifestyle.

As a longtime fan of powerboat racing, Peter VanGameren, CEO of Ambition Lifestyle has an excellent understanding of what spectators, participants, race promoters, teams and governing bodies want to know. “As a fan of powerboat racing, I had been walking around with an idea to one day make an outstanding powerboat news portal. It is our firm belief that all parties involved will benefit by having all of their news and information from global powerboat racing together in one central hub, and our current partners see the value that PowerboatPro.com can bring them.”

I am very much looking forward to having a place where we can get the message out about what we’re trying to accomplish in the sport of offshore powerboat racing and the philanthropic organizations we are partnering with,” said Maisy Page, Founder and Program Director of OSS Cares. “As a fan of all things fast, I’m very excited to have a place to go for all of the latest news and events in marine motorsports.”

“The VSConnect™ platform is perfect for the sport of powerboating,” said VS Executive Producer Curtis Worthy. “I’m looking forward to great relationship with Ambition Lifestyle and applying the technology to powerboat spectators and partners worldwide.”

Virtual Spectator gained a reputation as an innovator of 3D tracking technology for the Volvo Ocean Race and America’s Cup. The company has now applied the technology to VSConnect™ allowing fans to follow powerboating.

VS tracking technology will eventually allow users to track their favorite class or with VSConnect™ interactive maps, complete with geo tagged photos, schedules and video updates. Countdown timers to each event will allow fans to find out when the next race is, in any participating class- anywhere in the world.

The AMSOIL Offshore Racing Team led both of its races from start to finish in the fierce OSS Cat Lite competition in both Cat Lite heats held at Lake Cumberland, KY on Sunday, May 10th. The Team AMSOIL 368 Skater was re-fitted with new Mercury 525 EFI engines and components just prior to the trip from California.

The new equipment was tested on Saturday by Bob Teague and Paul Whittier logging over 160 miles trying different set up combinations. The extensive testing combined with the newly prepared boat paid off by a dominant performance during the Sunday’s two races in which the finish points of each race were combined to determine the final winner.

Team AMSOIL started on the pole position in each Cat Lite heat and battled in beginning of each race with Team Propstop through the first couple of turns until gaining the lead. In each race, Team AMSOIL continued to extend the lead. At the end of the second race, Team AMSOIL established a lead on the rest of the fleet of nearly one-half lap.

This was the first offshore race ever held at Lake Cumberland. The spectators loved the event and Team AMSOIL was very popular with the fans as well as a number of AMSOIL dealers in the area.

Team AMSOIL credits the winning performance and reliability of its boat to the outstanding lubricants used in the engines and all systems in the boat. The new 15W50 Dominator Racing Oil allowed Team AMSOIL to log over 4000 racing miles on its Mercury Racing engines last year with not one engine problem. The Team has also proven that the absolute best oil for a Mercury dry-sump VISSM drive is AMSOIL “MCF.” After two years of racing, Team AMSOIL’s VISSM drives are still in new condition.

Team AMSOIL captured virtually every title possible in the Cat Lite Class during the 2008 racing season. The Team is the current OPA Cat Lite High Points Champion, OSS National and High Points Cat Lite Champion, and SBI Super Cat World Champion. Team AMSOIL is also the holder of the OSS World Endurance record for Miami to Bimini and back, and captured the POPRA World Kilo Record in its class with an official average speed of 131.981mph. Team AMSOIL is now headed to Ocean City, Maryland to compete in the first race of the Triple Crown Series on May 31st. As the defending champion of the Triple Crown Series, the Team intends to keep its title in the Northeast circuit.

Blair “Superman” Morgan plans on adding yet another record to his long list of accomplishments; wheeling out of Saskatoon’s City Hospital faster than any “average” human could dream.

“I want to break all records of someone getting out of physio,” Morgan says with a slight smile, lying in bed on the hospital’s rehabilitation floor.

The highly accredited motocross and snowcross racer severed his spinal cord in Montreal six weeks ago during a motocross practice. He is paralyzed from the chest down and is not expected to walk, let alone race again.

Morgan’s drive and spirit never ceases to amaze though. He continues to surprise his physiotherapy instructors by advancing quickly. At this rate, he should be released from the hospital by Christmas.

Morgan’s competitive spirit will never be lost, he even made a recent trip to a track and field facility housing special racing wheelchairs. Although becoming a Paralympic athlete is not even in his sights right now…it’s not something he’s ruling out.

Blair, you’ve already shown us you can do anything you put your mind to…and we wouldn’t dare put anything past ya. (BB)

Unable to convince Bonneville Salt Flats authorities to participate in one of their speed events with their snowmobile this past fall, but not giving up they attempted to break the record in Quebec.

September 27th marked a new world record at the international airport in Val-D’or. At the very first attempt, driver Francis Morin directed the G-Force-One down the strip and across the markers to achieve a clock reading of 210.28 mph, 338 kph.

ISR (International Snowmobile Racing) and SCM (Super Compétition Motorisée ) officials were present to confirm the speed record with the chronometer and land markers at mid track.

They also assisted in the removal of the head of the engine to confirm that is was in fact a 1000cc engine.

The main goal of “Lamtrac G-force” is to still participate at the Bonneville speed trials next fall, but with the goal to attain and hold a constant speed of 200 mph down the salt flats.
