Turn Your Lights Out for Earth Hour 2009
The 2008 campaign was the largest voluntary power-down ever: More than 50 million people in 35 countries turned off their lights for 60 minutes. This years should be even bigger yet. Join the 825 cities in 80 countries across the globe that have already signed up to “go dark” for Earth Hour 2009. The campaign started two years ago in Sydney, Australia where the city’s carbon consumption dropped 10% during Earth Hour. Imagine if that was every major city in the world…for more than 1 hour a year. Good things can happen when everyone puts just a little effort forward. Pledge your participation @ earthhour.org – and flip the switch on March 28th between 8:30 and 9:30 pm.
