Is Snocross Lost?

StudBoy Zach Is Snocross Lost? The World PowerSports Association (WPSA), the national and regional snocross circuit has closed it’s doors for good; suspending operations on all ATV and snowmobile racing circuits. It’s hard to imagine, will all of the big names in snocross, large sponsorships for teams, television coverage, inclusion in the ESPN X-games, and seemingly growing spectator base, that this organization would go under. Apparently, the organization was shelling out more money on the national races than was coming back in to be profitable. Did I mention there may be good news out of this tragedy? Thankfully many people heavily invested in snowmobile racing, whether by actual monetary value or just for the pure love of the sport, have come together and they do have a plan, Step 1 “Don’t let snocross die!” Frankly, I concur. They have received numerous proposals but it sounds like the founder of the International Series of Champions (ISOC), a cross country race circuit, has been given the green flag to spearhead a new organization; supposedly boasting television coverage, increased payouts, a full national and regional schedule, and is aiming to be more customer focused. Sounds promising. (BB)
